Oregon is such a treasure trove of gorgeous gemstones and this pendant features 2 of them :)
Fire obsidian hails from Glass Buttes Oregon. This is the only place in the world that produces this special type of obsidian which has a layer of magnetite that produces a fantastic array of colors when the sunlight hits just so. Les had to grind carefully down to the undulating layer of magnetite to reveal the fire, but it was well worth the effort :) I added a picture at the end to show when the fire is not flashing. Fire obsidian requires strong light for full flash effect. When a room is not well lit it will appear similar to black obsidian. This one was definitely made to be worn outdoors...be prepared to explain to onlookers what the gemstone is as I am sure it will catch some eyes and comments when it fires up in the sun lol
We decided to pair the obsidian with a 3mm faceted Oregon sunstone which plays on the reds that flash in the obsidian. The setting is made of oxidized sterling/fine silver and the bail ring and tube that the sunstone is set in is made of 18k gold. There is a subtle pattern all along the top of the bezel to add interest and texture to this piece.
The oxidized sterling silver chain is adjustable from 17-19" with a series of rings that can be chosen for length and a handmade hook/clasp.
Such a unique one-of-a-kind pendant and so much fun to make :)

Shipping is free and processing time takes between 3-5 days and below I list the carriers that we use for each of the countries we ship to:
*Canada via Canada Post Expedited.
*USA via DHL International Express- all shipments to the US will be DPP (all brokerage/associated costs pre-paid, no surprise charges :)
* European Union/United Kingdom via Canada Post International tracked packet
