The beauty of Oregon gemstones shines through in this gorgeous pair of earrings featuring Richardson's Ranch (Oregon) Blue Opal and Oregon schiller sunstone :)
I was so excited when Les, our lapidarist, starting cutting through a few thundereggs we bought from Richardson's Ranch many years ago. You never know what you will find, and a few were definitely amazing with beautiful color and patterns! Once I saw the slabs Les cut with blue infused with red I knew I had to pair the finished opal cabochons with schiller sunstone from Oregon as well :)
The settings of the earrings are made of lightly oxidized and brushed sterling/fine silver with added accents of 18k gold found on the connecting rings and the bottom decorative ball on the opal setting.
The earwires are made of 14k gold fill.
Approximate weight of each earring: 3.5 grams
Approximate length from top of the earwire to bottom of the setting: 44mm
